Finding a Course

Given the amount of money invested in a course by way of tuition fees, it is extremely important that students choose the right course. The introduction of the Internet has made this process a lot easier from outside the UK but it can still take a considerable amount of research to make sure that you choose a course and a college/university that is right for you.

Most universities/colleges now have detailed websites which contain a lot of information about both the institution and it's courses.

The following sites should help students identify what types of courses are available and which institutions best meet your needs.

UCAS:

UCAS is the central organisation that processes applications for full-time undergraduate courses at UK universities and colleges. The website contains detailed information on the UK educational system for undergraduate students, details on how to apply and a searchable database of all undergraduate courses offered by public colleges/universities in the UK.

Educationuk:

The education UK site contains a searchable database of many courses from school level to postgraduate, vocational courses and English language courses. Also contains advice and information to help you establish the level of course that is right for you.

floodlight:

A commercial website offering a searchable database of course at all levels available at institutions in London only.

hotcourses.com:

Another commercial website with advice for students and a searchable database of courses covering the whole of the UK.
